Amentum is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to provide technical expertise to our Navy customer. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing a disciplined and rigorous Systems Engineering (SE) process across all mission areas of the system under development and sustainment.

Using your expertise, you will help our customer define, document, and follow an open systems approach using modular design, standards-based interfaces, and widely supported consensus-based standards in hardware, software, subsystems, and elements that comprise the specific system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and design systems infrastructure, including the implementation and design of hardware.
  • Analyze, develop, modify, test, and maintain the system, ensuring it meets internal and external requirements.
  • Diagnose problems and provide recommendations for improvement on existing and new systems.
  • Act as a specialist on complex technical and business matters, working independently.
  • Support systems integration engineering management planning efforts and key programmatic and process documents, such as Systems Roadmaps and Interoperability Assessments.
  • Provide programmatic technical briefings and point papers for presentation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and Navy, military, and agency program participants to discuss engineering-level issues and topics.
  • Review concepts, plans, demonstrations, and other documents as required, providing analysis and recommendations.
  • Support capability phasing and conduct requirements analysis as needed.
  • Participate in technical service meetings and other technical exchanges, supporting the definition and evolution of combat system requirements and capabilities.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in a technical discipline and at least eight (8) years of full-time professional experience working as a systems engineer in at least one major shipboard, non-propulsion electronic subsystem.

OR

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline and at least ten (10) years of full-time professional experience working as a systems engineer in at least one major shipboard, non-propulsion electronic subsystem.
  • At least three (3) of the years must have been full-time experience at the system level. Education may be substituted by this same experience.
  • Must have an Active TOP SECRET US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a TOP SECRET Clearance.
