POSITION SUMMARY:

The Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division Dam Neck Activity (NSWCDD DNA) is seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to provide comprehensive support in Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity, Safety, Test and Evaluation (T&E), and Readiness for assigned systems. The role encompasses the entire system lifecycle, including hardware, software, subsystems, and their components, ensuring alignment with the needs of the U.S. Navy and other defense entities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and implement systems infrastructure, including hardware design and integration. Analyze, develop, modify, test, and maintain systems to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on intricate technical and business issues, often working independently and potentially leading project teams.
  • Assist in systems integration engineering management planning and contribute to key programmatic documentation.
  • Deliver technical briefings and create point papers for stakeholder presentations.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including Navy field activities and other military and agency representatives, to address engineering challenges and discussions.
  • Review and analyze concepts, plans, and documentation, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Support capability phasing and conduct thorough requirements analysis as necessary.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field is required.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of six (6) years of professional experience in systems engineering.
  • Experience with at least one major shipboard, non-propulsion electronic subsystem.
  • At least two (2) years of experience at the system level is mandatory.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must possess and maintain a Top-Secret Security Clearance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position primarily operates in a professional office setting, with a hybrid work model. Standard office equipment such as computers and telecommunication devices will be utilized.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The role requires effective communication skills, including listening and speaking. Regular activities include standing, walking, and using hands for various tasks.

WORK SCHEDULE:

The standard workday consists of eight hours, with some flexibility in scheduling. Core hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Occasional travel, up to 10%, may be necessary.
