Assistant Professor of Elementary Education

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Assistant Professor of Elementary Education to join our faculty at the University of Alabama. This is a tenure-track position with a focus on Literacy Education.
Key Responsibilities- Teach courses in Elementary Education and Literacy Education at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Conduct research in Literacy Education and publish scholarly articles in reputable journals.
- Develop and maintain a strong research agenda in Literacy Education.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum in Elementary Education and Literacy Education.
- Advise and mentor students in Elementary Education and Literacy Education.
- Ph.D. in Reading/Literacy Education, Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field.
- At least 18 hours of graduate coursework in Literacy Education.
- Minimum of two years of classroom teaching experience at the Pre-K-6 levels.
- Ability to pursue a research agenda and external funding focusing on Literacy Education.
- Ability to teach courses in Literacy and Foundations of Reading at the Elementary and/or Early Childhood level.
- Ability to teach courses in Elementary and/or Early Childhood Reading and Language Arts Methods.
