Sales and Business Development Manager

The Engagement Manager role at Cochlear is a critical position that requires a sales and business development expert to execute industry-leading medical device B2C sales in the Bay Area, California territory. The successful candidate will apply complex sales techniques to drive territory strategy and achieve yearly sales revenue targets.
This position involves demonstrating sales and business acumen, identifying market opportunities, and generating sales and securing orders. The Engagement Manager will establish strong relationships with key people in the assigned territory geography, including candidates, audiologists, surgeons, scheduling coordinators, and volunteers.
The ideal candidate will maintain accurate documentation of all sales activities and customer interactions, ensuring compliance with Cochlear policy, laws, and regulations. They will also collaborate with B2B teammates to educate on products and develop strong relationships with schools, Deaf/Hard of Hearing schools/programs, and non-programming audiologists.
The Engagement Manager will execute sales and marketing initiatives, delivering marketing messages to impact customers positively. They will coordinate and provide candidate educational events, evaluation days, and awareness events related to Cochlear devices. Additionally, they will provide market intelligence and competitive information to develop effective ways to approach current and potential customers.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
- 2-3 years of experience in sales and business development
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Bilingual preferred
- Ability to lift a minimum of 30 lbs
- Valid driver's license
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 60% of the time with overnight stays and weekends
