Position Overview

The Healthcare Project Management Specialist serves as an Owner's Representative, overseeing significant projects within the healthcare sector. This role is pivotal in managing initiatives from initial conceptualization through to design and construction phases, ensuring alignment with client objectives and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

As a vital member of the project management team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing projects valued at over $100 million, encompassing renovations, maintenance, and new constructions.
  • Gathering site-specific information to efficiently allocate resources.
  • Formulating strategic conceptual programs that align with the proposed schedule and budget in collaboration with clients.
  • Leading the assembly of project teams by preparing and managing Requests for Proposals (RFPs), making award recommendations, and negotiating contracts as necessary.
  • Directing the project team on behalf of the client throughout the design, construction, occupancy, and closeout phases.
  • Ensuring daily project oversight and fostering communication with clients and project teams, aligned with client goals and constraints.
  • Reviewing designs for compliance with client schedules, budgets, logistics, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Developing, monitoring, and maintaining project schedules and budgets throughout all project phases.
  • Administering contracts and invoices on behalf of the client.
  • Proactively identifying key issues and making informed decisions on significant project events, considering their impact on project objectives.
  • Coordinating commissioning and financial closeout efforts.
  • Building and maintaining respect and trust within the project team.

Qualifications

Essential Skills and Experience
  • Proven experience as an Owner's Representative in project management, specifically within the healthcare sector.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze plans and specifications.
  • Familiarity with the preconstruction and project development processes.
  • Understanding of contract negotiations and requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills for managing project budgets effectively.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and scheduling software.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Preferred experience with Certificate of Need and New York State Article 28 approval processes in the healthcare sector.

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience.
