Job Summary

LEWIS ENVIRONMENTAL GROUP is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Driver to join our team. As a Specialist Driver, you will be responsible for the safe operation of single axle dump trucks, roll off trucks, and vacuum trucks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Commercial Vehicles: Drive commercial vehicles to support our Environmental Services projects, adhering to all regulations and safety protocols.
  • Maintain Certifications: Ensure all DOT and OSHA certifications are up-to-date and maintained to drive a CDL truck and transport Hazardous and Non-Hazardous Materials.
  • Practice Safe Work Practices: Follow all Company safety rules and OSHA regulations, including attendance at required safety training programs.
  • Emergency Response: Participate in the On-Call Emergency Response Team to respond to emergencies, spills, and other environmental incidents.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Perform pre- and post-checks on all vehicles driven and maintain equipment in excellent condition.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all regulations regarding the transportation of Hazardous and Non-Hazardous waste.
  • Service Technician: Perform Service Technician tasks as part of our team-based operations philosophy.
Requirements
  • Clean MVR and Background: Possess a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and Criminal Background, with an acceptable FMCSA record.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and protect equipment in excellent condition.
  • Commercial Vehicle Operation: Ability to operate a commercial vehicle in a safe manner at all times.
  • Overnight Runs: Ability to make overnight runs as required.
  • Safety Focus: Strong focus on Safety, Quality, Honesty, and Integrity.
  • OSHA Training: 40 Hours OSHA and related Safety Training is a plus.
  • CDL Experience: 2 Years' Experience as a CDL Driver is strongly preferred.
  • Endorsements: Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements are strongly required.
  • DOT Examiner's Certificate: Possess a DOT Examiner's Certificate.
Physical Requirements
  • Sitting and Driving: Ability to sit for extended periods of time operating a motor vehicle.
  • Lifting and Manual Labor: Ability to lift 60 lbs and perform manual labor 50-70% of the time.
  • Weather Conditions: Ability to work in severe weather conditions, both hot and cold.
  • Confined Spaces: Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Inclement Weather: Work and travel in inclement weather.
  • Noise Levels: Ability to tolerate exposure to moderate noise levels.
