Role Summary

Sibylline Americas is seeking skilled Shift Operations Managers (SOMs) to oversee teams embedded within our client's evolving Global Security Operations Center (GSOC). The SOMs will play a pivotal role in managing personnel at the client's office, ensuring effective operational and tactical responses to safety and security challenges in a fast-paced environment.

Successful candidates will demonstrate expertise in three primary areas: (1) leading diverse teams under pressure to achieve objectives while nurturing a collaborative atmosphere; (2) conducting timely evaluations of potential risks and managing immediate responses in alignment with established protocols; and (3) juggling multiple priorities and escalating significant issues to senior management as necessary.

The SOMs will act as the senior representatives of Sibylline on shift, responsible for the overall management of personnel and the response to incidents that arise during their shifts. Each shift will be led by a SOM, who will directly supervise multiple Supervisors, who in turn manage Lead Operators and Operators.

Shift Details: This position is for the overnight shift, Monday through Friday.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

  • Provide strategic guidance and hands-on support to Supervisors and team members in managing all on-shift activities and emerging issues, including physical security and business continuity.
  • Respond to escalations and communicate directly with stakeholders, including security specialists and facilities managers.
  • Utilize judgment to assess immediate risks to client safety and security, ensuring timely communication of these risks when necessary.
  • Lead initial crisis management efforts in response to urgent events and collaborate with regional crisis leads for incident escalation.
  • Deliver exemplary customer service to clients and assist team members in achieving similar standards of excellence.
  • Escalate issues to senior management and/or the client as required.
  • Oversee and ensure quality assurance for all tasks completed during assigned shifts.
  • Monitor and analyze metrics and key performance indicators for regular review as stipulated by client contracts.

Personnel Management

  • Act as the line manager for on-shift Supervisors and provide support to their subordinates.
  • Ensure adequate staffing and alignment of responsibilities.
  • Engage directly with team members to help them reach their performance potential and professional development goals.
  • Address performance-related issues in accordance with company policies.

Strategic Vision and Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to strategic discussions regarding the global program's direction and enhancements to GSOC services.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining policies that impact GSOC effectiveness.
  • Support initiatives to identify and implement modern technologies and processes to enhance GSOC efficiency.

Billing Oversight

  • Coordinate scheduling to ensure all critical posts are filled and billed accurately.
  • Collaborate with the Account Manager to review invoices and rectify errors prior to submission.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Associate degree.
  • A minimum of five years' experience in a high-pressure environment, such as a Security Operations Center or Crisis Management Center.
  • Proven effectiveness as a direct manager of diverse teams, with experience overseeing at least ten subordinates.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and comfort engaging with clients.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to edit final products for business leaders.
  • Experience in data analysis to create metrics that drive positive change.
  • Ability to manage change and conflict effectively.
  • Confidence in managing high-intensity situations.
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands based on situational needs.
  • Professional judgment to escalate issues requiring senior management attention.
  • Proficiency with technology and the ability to maintain situational awareness across multiple systems.
  • Strong business acumen and a positive attitude.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or relevant professional certifications in crisis management or related fields.
  • Eight or more years' experience in a high-pressure environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large, cross-functional teams.
  • Experience leading crisis response efforts involving life-safety risks.
  • Emotional intelligence as evidenced through leadership and mentoring skills.

Successful candidates will undergo a writing assessment followed by psychometric testing, with shortlisted applicants invited for a final panel interview conducted virtually. The compensation for this role is negotiable based on qualifications and experience, with a salary range of $80,000 - $120,000.
