Job Summary: The Engineering Operations Manager will take charge of the daily operations, maintenance, and optimization of our battery storage facilities. The successful candidate will possess substantial experience in managing extensive battery storage systems, ensuring operational excellence, safety, and dependability. A thorough understanding of battery technologies, electrical systems, and energy management is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the operation and upkeep of battery storage facilities, guaranteeing peak performance and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
  • Formulate and execute operational protocols and maintenance timelines to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
  • Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and software to monitor system performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams during the setup and commissioning of new battery storage systems.
  • Conduct routine inspections and equipment testing to ensure compliance with specifications and optimal functioning.
  • Analyze operational data to detect trends, anomalies, and areas for enhancement.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to on-site personnel and relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Compile comprehensive reports on system performance, maintenance efforts, and project developments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline; advanced degrees are preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in operations engineering, with at least 3 years dedicated to battery storage systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of battery technologies, including lithium-ion, flow batteries, and emerging innovations.
  • Proficient in SCADA systems, energy management software, and diagnostic tools.
  • Proven experience in creating and implementing operational procedures and maintenance schedules.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and capacity to perform under pressure.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Willingness to travel to various site locations as necessary.
