Job Summary: The Engineering Operations Manager will take charge of the daily management, upkeep, and enhancement of battery storage facilities. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in overseeing large-scale battery storage systems, ensuring optimal operational efficiency, safety, and dependability. A comprehensive understanding of battery technologies, electrical systems, and energy management is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the operation and maintenance of battery storage facilities, ensuring peak performance and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
- Formulate and execute operational protocols and maintenance timelines to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and software to monitor system performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams during the setup and commissioning of new battery storage systems.
- Conduct routine inspections and equipment testing to guarantee proper operation and compliance with specifications.
- Analyze operational data to detect trends, anomalies, and areas for enhancement.
- Offer technical support and training to on-site personnel and relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain relationships with vendors, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
- Compile comprehensive reports on system performance, maintenance activities, and project advancements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline. Advanced degrees are preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in operations engineering, with at least 3 years dedicated to battery storage systems.
- In-depth knowledge of battery technologies, including lithium-ion, flow batteries, and other emerging technologies.
- Proficiency in SCADA systems, energy management software, and various diagnostic tools.
- Proven experience in creating and implementing operational protocols and maintenance schedules.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and capacity to perform under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Willingness to travel to various site locations as necessary.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with renewable energy systems, such as solar or wind power.
- Understanding of energy market dynamics and grid operations.
