Job Summary:

The Medical Receptionist is a vital member of our healthcare team, responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support. As the first point of contact for patients, you will be the face of our organization, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience for all who enter our doors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and register patients, ensuring accurate and timely completion of registration processes
  • Schedule appointments and manage patient flow to minimize wait times
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, collecting co-payments and obtaining financial information as needed
  • Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries in a professional and courteous manner
  • Perform various clerical duties, including maintaining departmental deposit logs and preparing routine schedules and reports
  • Ensure a positive customer service atmosphere and interactions in reception areas
  • Oversee waiting areas, ensuring a clean and organized environment
  • Coordinate patient movement and report any problems or irregularities
  • Working knowledge of multi-line phones and computers, fax/copy machines
  • Complete full patient registration in IDX when registering new patients, ensuring all patient information is updated and current
  • Obtain, verify, and update patient demographic and insurance information

Requirements:

  • Basic computer skills required
  • High School Diploma / GED preferred
  • Previous medical office and/or insurance experience preferred
  • Bi-lingual skills preferred
