Position Overview:
As the Batching Department Supervisor, you will lead and support your team in executing daily operational tasks. Your department is responsible for blending raw materials and supplying bulk products to the packaging section. Team members will handle food ingredients, adhere to recipes, maintain traceability, and operate various equipment while upholding food safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the setup of ingredient preparation and batching areas, ensuring equipment is assembled correctly.
  • Coordinate with warehouse operations for the timely delivery of raw materials to the production floor.
  • Manage the preparation of raw materials, including inspection, washing, and portioning, while demonstrating best practices.
  • Ensure proper labeling and staging of raw materials for downstream processes.
  • Safely operate and train others on process equipment, including mixers and conveyors.
  • Lead sanitation efforts, including cleaning packaging stations after production shifts.
  • Effectively manage team operations to ensure efficient production timelines.
  • Prepare and review necessary documentation for food safety and quality assurance.
  • Promote adherence to safety guidelines and Good Manufacturing Practices among team members.
  • Identify and report any issues related to product quality, processing, or team performance.
  • Encourage continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
  • Communicate goals and priorities clearly to team members, providing feedback on progress.
  • Foster an inclusive environment through meaningful DE&I discussions.
  • Support team members in their professional growth and advancement opportunities.
  • Demonstrate effective decision-making skills to guide the team towards success.

Qualifications:

  • 4-5 years of experience in food processing, with 3-4 years operating complex food processing equipment.
  • 3-4 years of experience in team leadership and operational management.
  • Availability to start work early in the morning and work extended hours as needed.
  • Strong attendance and time management skills are essential.
  • Ability to read and follow preparation instructions accurately.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to maintain focus on tasks.
  • Proficient in English, both verbal and written, with competent math skills.
  • Familiarity with technology, including smartphones and tablets.
  • Commitment to fostering a respectful and collaborative workplace.
  • Understanding of company goals and organizational structure.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs and maneuver heavy carts and containers.
  • Capability to work in various environmental conditions.
  • Willingness to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and accurately.
  • Physical agility to perform tasks that require bending and twisting.
  • Maintain a constant state of alertness and safety awareness.
