Role Summary

The Associate Manufacturing Scientist plays a crucial role in the production of pharmaceutical substances and products. This position emphasizes the preparation of solutions and reagents while adhering to established protocols. The individual will engage in laboratory activities, troubleshoot issues, and maintain effective communication with team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to batch records, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions meticulously.
  • Document all processes in batch records and laboratory notebooks accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Support fellow chemists in the CMC group during the synthesis and chromatography of oligonucleotides, including:
    • Preparation of reagent solutions
    • Packing of columns
    • Preparation of mobile phases
    • Collection of fractions
  • Operate tangential flow filtration (TFF) systems for the desalting of purified RNA solutions.
  • Utilize lyophilizers for the packaging of solid drug substances.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain production schedules and ensure high-quality outputs.
  • Keep the workspace organized and clean.
  • Follow safety protocols by wearing the necessary personal protective equipment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Entry-level to three years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Attention to detail is essential.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a GMP environment and familiarity with controlled documentation practices.
