Key Skills:

Description:

The IT Asset & Configuration Management Analyst will play a crucial role in overseeing hardware technology assets within the Asset Management Database (AMDB) and configuration items (CIs) in the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). This position is responsible for delivering data analysis and updates to facilitate the effective management of digital technology assets and CIs, whether they are owned and managed by Digital IT, third-party service providers, or business units.

The Analyst will support the ITAM & Configuration Management Programs by executing daily hardware IT Asset Management (ITAM) and Configuration Management operations, which include managing the enterprise asset repository, asset reconciliation, identifying exceptions, analyzing data, and generating reports for assets in the AMDB and CIs in the CMDB. Daily responsibilities will also encompass managing AMDB and CMDB incident tickets and service requests in accordance with service level agreements (SLAs), engaging stakeholders for each process area, and promoting the adoption of each process area. The Analyst will undertake various complex asset and configuration management support activities. This role will collaborate with the ITAM and Configuration Management Leads to ensure adherence to processes and policies while identifying and implementing opportunities for enhancement. The primary focus of this role is to support ITAM and ITSM Configuration Management operations, while the secondary focus is on providing, analyzing, and producing asset and CI data, reporting, and metrics.

The Analyst will also assist in fulfilling routine and complex work requests related to these processes, as well as the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies, procedures, and performance standards. This individual will participate in various functions of the ITAM & Configuration Management Programs, which will include validating AMDB and CMDB records for data accuracy and completeness, and monitoring the status related to receiving, stock maintenance, deployment, asset assignment, auditing, reclamation, retirement, decommissioning, and disposal of assets.

Essential Functions:

  • Update, validate, and maintain AMDB and CMDB
  • Track and monitor asset and CI inventories based on operational guidance
  • Identify and investigate discrepancies in asset and CI inventories
  • Coordinate remediation activities for these discrepancies
  • Support adherence to ITAM and Configuration Management Process discipline
  • Ensure compliance with governance processes for asset and CI maintenance
  • Prepare asset and CI reports and metrics for stakeholders and leadership
  • Assist with internal self-audits and external audits of assets and CIs
  • Provide support to the ITAM and Configuration Management Lead
  • Contribute to the definition and maintenance of ITAM and Configuration Management policies and standards
  • Facilitate training and knowledge management for ITAM and Configuration Management
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and experience.

  • Experience with asset and configuration management tools and data
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and other data analysis tools
  • Strong understanding of the IT Hardware Asset Management lifecycle and best practices
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT Asset Management and/or Configuration Management required
  • Preferred 5 years of experience in IT Asset Management and/or Configuration Management
  • Preferred Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional (CHAMP) Certification and/or ITIL certification
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work with various stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to document information accurately and appropriately for the audience
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
