We are currently in search of an IT Asset & Configuration Management Analyst, a W2 contract position with one of our prominent clients.

Job Title: IT Asset & Configuration Management Analyst

Role Type: W2 only

Duration: 24 months with potential for extension.

Remote Work: This position is remote.

Key Competencies:

  • Proficient in utilizing asset and configuration management tools and data
  • Advanced skills in Excel and other data analysis software
  • Thorough understanding of the IT Hardware Asset Management lifecycle, along with ITAM and Configuration Management best practices
  • 5-7 years of experience in IT Hardware Asset Management and/or ITSM Configuration Management is preferred
  • Experience with ServiceNow is essential

Position Overview:

The IT Asset & Configuration Management Analyst will play a crucial role in managing hardware technology assets within the Asset Management Database (AMDB) and configuration items (CIs) in the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). This position is responsible for conducting data analysis and updates to facilitate the effective management of digital technology assets and CIs, whether they are owned and managed by Digital IT, third-party service providers, or the client's business units.

The Analyst will support the ITAM & Configuration Management Programs by executing daily hardware IT Asset Management (ITAM) and Configuration Management operations. This includes managing the enterprise asset repository, asset reconciliation, identifying exceptions, conducting data analysis, and generating reports for assets in the AMDB and CIs in the CMDB. Additionally, the Analyst will oversee daily CI operations to ensure the synchronization and accuracy of the AMDB and CMDB. Responsibilities also encompass managing AMDB and CMDB incident tickets and service requests, engaging stakeholders for each process area, and promoting the adoption of these processes.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and validate the AMDB and CMDB
  • Monitor asset and CI inventories based on operational guidelines
  • Investigate and address inventory discrepancies
  • Coordinate remediation efforts for identified variances
  • Ensure adherence to ITAM and Configuration Management processes
  • Prepare reports and metrics for stakeholders and leadership
  • Support internal and external audits of assets and CIs
  • Assist the ITAM and Configuration Management Lead with regular activities
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of policies and standards
  • Facilitate training and knowledge management initiatives
  • Perform additional ITAM and Configuration Management duties as assigned

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and experience.

  • Experience with asset and configuration management tools
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools
  • Strong understanding of IT Hardware Asset Management lifecycle and best practices
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT Asset Management and/or Configuration Management required
  • Preferred 5 years of experience in the field
  • Certification as a Hardware Asset Management Professional (CHAMP) and/or ITIL certification is a plus
  • Collaborative team player with strong communication skills
  • Adept at analyzing information and developing comprehensive work plans
  • Ability to present information effectively to peers and management
  • Skilled in identifying problems and procedural inconsistencies
  • Proficient in documenting information accurately and clearly
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written communication capabilities
