Position Overview:

The IT Asset Management Specialist will play a crucial role in overseeing the management of hardware technology assets within the Asset Management Database (AMDB) and configuration items (CIs) in the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). This position is essential for ensuring accurate data analysis and updates that support the effective governance of digital technology assets and CIs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the daily operations of hardware IT Asset Management (ITAM) and Configuration Management.
  • Manage the enterprise asset repository, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct asset reconciliation and identify exceptions through detailed data analysis.
  • Create comprehensive reports for assets in the AMDB and CIs in the CMDB.
  • Coordinate incident tickets and service requests related to AMDB and CMDB, adhering to service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Engage with stakeholders to promote process adherence and support the adoption of ITAM and Configuration Management practices.

Essential Functions:

  • Update and maintain the AMDB and CMDB, ensuring compliance with governance processes.
  • Monitor asset and CI inventories, investigating variances and coordinating remediation efforts.
  • Prepare reports and metrics for stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Support internal and external audits of assets and CIs.
  • Facilitate training and knowledge management related to ITAM and Configuration Management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with asset and configuration management tools and data analysis.
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel functionalities and other data analysis tools.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT Asset Management and/or Configuration Management.
  • Preferred experience of 5 years in IT Asset Management and/or Configuration Management.
  • Certifications such as Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional (CHAMP) or ITIL are advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
