Job Summary

The Loss Prevention Director is a critical role within Rent One, responsible for identifying and preventing theft of cash and merchandise. This position requires a driven individual with outstanding analytical skills and the ability to travel extensively throughout Rent One and RNR stores.

Key Responsibilities

    • Identify and investigate potential security breaches and theft incidents
    • Develop and implement strategies to prevent loss and protect company assets
  • Revenue and Profit Protection
    • Analyze business reporting to identify anomalies and potential shrinkage

  • Store Performance and Operations
    • Provide training and support to store employees to improve performance and operations
    • Collaborate with Regional Store Managers and Regional Store Directors to implement best practices
  • Employee Safety and Well-being
    • Monitor and enforce safety policies and procedures
    • Investigate and report incidents of coworker theft or safety violations
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years' of RTO or retail loss prevention experience required
  • Strong observation skills and analytical abilities
  • Valid driver's license and a driving record that complies with organizational standards
A Day in the Life

The Loss Prevention Director's role is dynamic and varied, with regular activities including:

  • Investigating and detecting potential security breaches and theft incidents
  • Implementing and maintaining awareness programs and audits
  • Documenting and reporting policy and procedure violations
  • Monitoring surveillance video and enforcing compliance with case and inventory control guidelines
  • Reporting incidents of coworker theft or safety violations to management
  • Conducting surveillances and preliminary investigations of suspected internal theft or fraud
  • Interviewing individuals suspected of misappropriation of company assets
  • Performing audits and data entry of audit results
  • Partnering with facilities management to monitor physical security policies and procedures
  • Providing support to the Operations team and training to stores
