Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior IT Manager to lead our Supply Chain Business Systems team at STAAR Surgical. This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of business systems processes within the medical device manufacturing industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Systems Analysis: Provide cost-effective business systems and applications analysis in support of the development and implementation of business applications.
  • Requirements Definition: Evaluate, analyze, and document requirements, translating them into proper system requirement specifications and configuration.
  • Systems Scope and Objectives: Formulate and define systems scope and objectives based on both end-user needs and a thorough understanding of business systems, applications, and industry requirements.
  • Liaison and Communication: Operate as a liaison between technical personnel and the appropriate end-user departments, evaluating and translating end-user needs and problems to technical associates and/or vendors where appropriate.
  • Technical Solutions: Understand the business implications of technical solutions and assist in defining and documenting the technology solutions to support any future business needs.
  • User Support and Training: Instruct end-users on new technology and enhancements using all appropriate communication tools, as well as providing support for existing systems.
  • Application Maintenance: Monitor and maintain applications, restoring services for end-users, analyzing application problems, and coordinating workable solutions.
  • System Software Upgrades: Participate in system software upgrades, including planning and scheduling, coordination, and deployment.
  • System Availability and Performance: Ensure availability and performance of systems and application environments through proactive as well as reactive analysis and maintenance.
  • Vendor Management: Manage service providers/vendors supporting business systems.
Requirements
  • Education and Training: Prefer an undergraduate degree and 8-10 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree and 6-8 years of relevant experience.
  • APICS Certification: APICS Certified Planning and Inventory Management or Certified Supply Chain Professional is highly desired.
Experience
  • Relevant Experience: Prefer 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Oracle Cloud ERP Experience: 5+ years of experience working with Oracle Cloud ERP in Supply Chain modules.
  • Regulated Industry Experience: Prior experience within highly regulated, validated medical device manufacturing is highly desired.
  • IT Management Experience: 2+ years of IT management experience managing systems supporting ERP, Supply Chain Planning, Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Warehouse Management System (WMS).
Skills
  • Business Systems Knowledge: Expert knowledge of business systems processes within the medical device manufacturing industry, including Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Plan-to-Manufacture, Product Lifecycle Management, and eQuality Management systems.
  • Oracle Cloud ERP Configuration: Expert knowledge of Oracle's Cloud ERP configuration.
  • Emerging Business Trends: Understand the impact of emerging business trends and their implications for STAAR Surgical and its customers.
  • Mentoring Skills: Excellent mentoring skills for developing subordinate staff.
  • SDLC Methodologies: Expert knowledge of and ability to put into practice commonly used SDLC methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, etc.).
