PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / COMPETENCIES

As a Senior IT Manager specializing in Finance Business Systems at STAAR Surgical, this role is pivotal in collaborating with business units and the IT department to define, deliver, and maintain IT solutions tailored for Finance.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of business systems and applications to support the development and implementation of financial applications.
  • Engage in the evaluation, analysis, and documentation of requirements, translating them into precise system specifications and configurations.
  • Define the scope and objectives of systems based on end-user requirements and a solid understanding of business applications and industry standards.
  • Act as a bridge between technical teams and relevant end-user departments.
  • Translate end-user needs and challenges to technical teams and/or vendors as necessary.
  • Comprehend the business implications of technical solutions and assist in documenting technology solutions for future business requirements.
  • Provide training to end users on new technologies and enhancements using various communication tools, while also offering support for existing systems.
  • Oversee the monitoring and maintenance of applications, ensuring service restoration for end users.
  • Analyze application issues and coordinate effective solutions.
  • Participate in system software upgrades, including planning, scheduling, coordination, and deployment.
  • Ensure the availability and performance of systems and application environments through proactive and reactive analysis and maintenance.
  • Lead the selection process for new systems, including requirement gathering, RFP development, and vendor selection.
  • Manage service providers and vendors that support business systems.
  • Perform other assigned duties as necessary.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Preferred: Undergraduate degree with 8-10 years of relevant experience or a Graduate degree with 6-8 years of relevant experience.

EXPERIENCE
  • Preferred: Over 10 years of relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with Oracle Cloud ERP in Finance modules and Oracle EPM.
  • 2+ years of IT management experience overseeing systems that support ERP, Budgeting, Finance Reporting, Business Intelligence, HR, and Expense Management.
  • Collaborate with Finance to ensure SOX compliance for computer systems.
  • Oversee ITGC aspects of SOX compliance, coordinating with internal and external auditors for reviews.

SKILLS
  • Expertise in business systems processes within the medical device manufacturing sector, including Record-to-Report, Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, and Plan-to-Manufacture.
  • Deep understanding of Oracle's Cloud ERP Configuration for Finance Modules.
  • Adept at recognizing the impact of emerging business trends and their implications for STAAR Surgical and its clientele.
  • Strong mentoring abilities for developing subordinate staff.
  • Proficient in commonly used SDLC methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile.
  • Experience leading large-scale or complex business systems and application upgrades/enhancements.
  • Ability to define cost and time estimates for implementation and development projects.
  • Provide Level 1 support for applications within the portfolio.

Compensation range is $160K - $205K, with final salary dependent on experience.
