Position Overview

This role is situated within the Diagnostics Division, focusing on delivering exceptional financial guidance to the Core Diagnostics Commercial Organization. Abbott is dedicated to enhancing healthcare performance through innovative laboratory solutions, impacting millions of lives globally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and present detailed financial reports, including annual plans, latest best estimates, and long-term forecasts, ensuring compliance with financial standards and Abbott's internal policies.
  • Design and implement advanced financial tools to facilitate strategic decision-making and monitor performance metrics.
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability margins and optimize financial workflows.
  • Maintain rigorous controls to safeguard assets and ensure adherence to relevant policies and guidelines; analyze financial outcomes, assess risks, propose actionable strategies, and navigate various scenarios.
  • Supervise month-end financial activities to ensure timely and accurate delivery of profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and sales reports.
  • Cultivate and lead a high-performing finance team, promoting collaboration, driving results, and supporting staff development through mentoring and performance evaluations.
  • Streamline planning processes for the division, coordinating critical timelines and deliverables.
  • Conduct and present monthly financial reviews to senior leadership.
  • Champion environmental health and safety (EHS) objectives, ensuring compliance with policies and recognizing EHS achievements within the organization.
  • Accountable for the effectiveness of the Quality System.

This position is responsible for:

  1. Executing strategies related to financial planning and reporting.
  2. Making a significant positive impact on organizational goals in the short, mid, and long term.
  3. Driving continuous improvement in financial planning and reporting processes.
  4. Fostering a collaborative work environment that enhances cross-functional team effectiveness.
  5. Managing and developing reporting staff, providing mentorship as needed.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, instilling confidence and credibility within the team. Strategic and tactical decisions will be informed by data analysis and presentations, with the understanding that inaccuracies could lead to significant project delays and resource expenditures.

Required Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in finance or accounting is essential, along with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

A master's degree is advantageous, alongside relevant experience that equips the candidate with the necessary skills and responsibilities for this role.
