Spherion is seeking a dedicated Medical Records Coordinator to become an integral part of a local healthcare facility. This is a full-time position with a standard work schedule of Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, offering competitive compensation based on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the collection and organization of patient medical records to support care delivery, coding, and reimbursement processes, as well as ensuring the completion of physician charts and the secure storage and retrieval of records.
- Guarantee the prompt retrieval and processing of medical documentation to maintain records that are complete, accurate, compliant, and aligned with State and Federal regulations, as well as HIPAA standards.
- Review and amend documentation for appropriate insurance details.
- Prepare incoming documentation from various sources including faxes, scanned notes from providers, internal data, external patient information, and records for new patient appointments.
- Conduct chart preparation for the electronic medical record system in accordance with departmental protocols.
- Foster open communication with physicians, staff, and supervisors to address and resolve any issues that arise.
- Uphold the confidentiality of all patient and employee information to protect the privacy of individuals and the clinic.
- Ensure that physical records are meticulously prepared for scanning and archival.
Working Hours:
8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Required Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
Capability to work independently with minimal oversight
Detail-oriented with a proactive approach
Educational Background:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience:
1-4 years in a related field
Qualifications:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Prior office experience is preferred
