Medical Records Clerk

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Records Clerk to join our team at the Health & Human Services Comm. As a Medical Records Clerk, you will play a critical role in maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing exceptional customer service to our patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Collect, maintain, and make available timely, accurate, and complete healthcare information to authorized users.
- Conduct regular quantitative analysis of paper charts and electronic health records, including report inquiry, data collection instruments, and Decision Support System (DSS) reports.
- Prioritize, locate, track, and transport patient healthcare records as needed.
- Function as a link between medical staff, Telemedicine staff, and data specialists in regards to healthcare documentation.
- File pertinent clinician documentation in paper records and ensure accurate documentation forms and patient identifiers are available.
- Maintain availability of super-bills and perform routine chart maintenance.
- Train program staff in the use of the electronic health record and provide customer support and training to users of both paper-based and electronic patient healthcare records.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Types at least 45 wpm as noted on the Application.
- Steady work history required and defined as working for the same company/entity for 12 continuous months during the last 3 years.
- 12 months of experience using a personal computer with various computer programs/software required, including Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to review work for accuracy and perform detailed work.
- Ability to handle complex tasks with minimal supervision.
- Ability to organize workload and set priorities.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
- Ability to work discretely and maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive issues.
This position requires up to 10% travel to the Vernon campus and may require working a specific shift, schedule, or rotating schedule, extended shift, and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy.
Work hours are 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday.
This position will provide back-up for various tasks within the department for the entire organization.
