Role Responsibilities and Qualifications

As a Financial Patient Advisor, your primary responsibilities will include reviewing the Financial Clearance Worklist, engaging with in-house patients, collecting estimated patient liabilities, and clarifying financial responsibilities while collaborating with external agencies to ensure adequate financial coverage for patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to AIDET guidelines in all patient interactions.
  • Exhibit exceptional customer service skills.
  • Collaborate with Medicaid Eligibility Staff to assist uninsured patients.
  • Provide financial estimates to patients and healthcare providers as needed.
  • Generate daily insurance verification and precertification reports, coordinating with relevant departments.
  • Comply with Cash Handling policies.
  • Utilize online systems and communication to ascertain insurance benefits and precertification needs.
  • Assist patients in establishing payment plans and completing financial applications.
  • Verify employment and insurance details with patients' employers when necessary.
  • Escalate concerns to the Patient Access Manager/Supervisor as required.
  • Document pertinent insurance information in the Health Information System.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and deliver excellent customer service.
  • Conduct financial analyses and collect estimated patient liabilities.
  • Follow up with patients for necessary documentation post-hospitalization.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
