Key Responsibilities and Qualifications

As a Financial Patient Advisor, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing the Financial Clearance Worklist and engaging with in-house patients.
  • Collecting estimated patient liabilities and clearly explaining financial responsibilities.
  • Collaborating with external agencies to secure financial coverage for patients.
  • Providing estimates to patients and healthcare providers as needed.
  • Generating daily insurance verification and precertification reports, coordinating with case management.
  • Adhering to cash handling policies and procedures.
  • Utilizing online systems and phone communications to verify insurance benefits.
  • Assisting patients with payment arrangements and financial applications.
  • Contacting employers for verification of employment and insurance status.
  • Escalating concerns to the Patient Access Manager as necessary.
  • Documenting insurance information and patient interactions in the health information system.
  • Maintaining a professional demeanor and delivering excellent customer service.
  • Conducting financial analyses and collecting estimated patient liabilities.
  • Following up with patients for necessary documentation.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
