About The Position

As the Head of Capital Markets Strategy, you will report directly to the Head of Capital Markets and play a pivotal role in advancing Figure Lending and its capital markets initiatives. This position entails overseeing and directing various capital markets projects, including but not limited to: Figure Connect Marketplace, negotiations and operations related to warehouse facilities, and new business development efforts.

You will collaborate with our technology, credit, operations, marketing, legal, compliance, and finance teams. Your role will involve cultivating and sustaining strategic partnerships with both external and internal stakeholders to meet the firm’s liquidity requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head of Capital Markets in managing all facets of the newly established Figure Connect Marketplace.
  • Oversee warehouse relationships and related documentation, ensuring product inclusion across diverse asset classes while collaborating closely with our Liquidity team for resource optimization.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to develop new offerings that Figure can introduce to the market, ensuring each product is supported by appropriate warehousing and a clear execution pathway via Figure Connect.
  • Explore opportunities for blockchain technology to enhance efficiency and reduce costs in processes typically handled by third parties in securitization and whole loan sales.
  • Coordinate with credit and operations teams to monitor loan performance, generate regular investor performance reports, and liaise with rating agencies and other stakeholders to communicate findings and deliverables.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in mortgage and consumer banking, whole loans, asset-backed securities, capital markets, hedging, trading, pricing, securitization, and regulatory compliance.
  • A comprehensive understanding of various financing products and structures is highly desirable.
  • Advanced skills in PowerPoint and financial modeling, with proficiency in Intex and Bloomberg in a professional context.
  • A robust network within the financial sector, particularly with institutional investors and funds focused on consumer and residential loans.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to lead with respect, maintain organization, and communicate effectively.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with an ABS issuer, investment bank, or buy-side firm.
  • A proactive individual who enjoys guiding projects from inception to completion and is willing to delve into details to devise innovative solutions.
  • A strong passion for leveraging technology to enhance financial services and a desire to thrive in a dynamic fintech environment.
