Patient Service Representative

As a Patient Service Representative at Advocate Health, you will play a vital role in ensuring seamless patient care. Your primary responsibility will be to complete patient order confirmations and modifications for item changes occurring after initial order ticket printing. This involves reviewing all paperwork submitted with equipment set up packets to ensure all forms are complete, signed, and dated appropriately. You will also process service maintenance tickets and reset the schedule for future service and maintenance of rental equipment. Additionally, you will maintain a knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, HMO, Managed Care, PHO's, and Advocate contract procedures and guidelines. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will be essential in verifying that current and appropriate authorizations are in place for all managed care clients for supplies and for purchased items. You will also be responsible for identifying, investigating, and verifying sources of reimbursement. Your proficiency in computerized resources and data entry programs, including OnBase, Fastrack, Carenet, ERMA, and Care Connection, will be crucial in processing and qualifying patients with clients with HME/RT needs. You will complete daily updates by running the Confirmed Orders for Billing Report to identify and correct errors in order entry. Furthermore, you will complete Direct Bill entry for supply closet items dispensed at off-site Advocate locations. Your ability to work independently with minimal supervision and provide excellent customer service support to both internal and external customers will be essential in resolving delivery, equipment, documentation, and/or reimbursement issues with appropriate parties. You will also be responsible for other duties as assigned by your manager, including running, collecting, and tabulating data and submitting to management selected, assigned reports such as the Daily Order Report.
Responsibilities:
