We are also exploring the potential of atacicept in other immunological disorders and developing MAU868, a monoclonal antibody aimed at neutralizing BK Virus infections, which can severely impact certain patient populations.

Role Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Vice President of IT Operations to spearhead the development and enhancement of our IT team and infrastructure during a pivotal growth phase. This role will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and will oversee IT services, infrastructure, security, project management, and vendor relationships. As the Senior Vice President of IT Operations, you will formulate and execute IT strategies that ensure the secure and efficient functioning of our enterprise applications, infrastructure, operational technology, and communication systems, aligning with the strategic and operational goals of the organization. This position will serve as a strategic partner and trusted advisor across all functions within Vera.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and execute an IT strategy that aligns with Vera's objectives and business initiatives, effectively communicating the technical roadmap across the organization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement innovative technological solutions that enhance operational efficiency and support business goals.
  • Manage relationships with various technology vendors and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes across the portfolio.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive dashboard that provides IT reports, including KPIs, SLAs, financial metrics, and other project-related data.
  • Oversee the execution of a diverse range of technical projects, balancing competing demands related to scope, time, cost, quality, resources, and risks.
  • Create, implement, and uphold policies, standards, practices, and procedures to ensure system security and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Develop and manage the annual operating budget and forecasting for the IT department.
  • Conduct risk management planning, identification, analysis, and monitoring for all projects.
  • Establish and implement cybersecurity strategies, policies, and procedures to safeguard the organization’s digital assets and data.
  • Develop and maintain a robust disaster recovery plan to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity in the event of disruptions.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the helpdesk team, ensuring prompt and effective resolution of technical issues and delivering exceptional customer support.
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of programs, special projects, and research initiatives to identify best practices and process improvements.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation, leveraging advanced technologies, including AI and Machine Learning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks and issues that may affect project success.
  • Oversee the maintenance of helpdesk processes, ticketing systems, and service-level agreements.
  • Continuously enhance helpdesk operations by implementing best practices, evaluating performance metrics, and improving customer satisfaction.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify training needs, develop user support documentation, and deliver training programs to promote user self-service and technical proficiency.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
  • 15+ years of extensive IT management experience, preferably within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical sectors.
  • Strong technical acumen and substantial application support experience in the pharmaceutical and/or biotech industries.
  • Proven expertise in project and program management, with a focus on financial management, resource allocation, and organizational change management methodologies.
  • In-depth understanding of IT systems architecture, governance frameworks, and industry best practices.
  • Experience with purchasing, budgeting, and planning processes, including IT contract management.
  • Strategic, analytical, and critical thinking skills, particularly in managing IT systems.
  • Extensive experience in vendor management.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills, fostering a collaborative and communicative work environment.
  • Experience in cultivating a collaborative and innovative workplace culture that promotes professional growth and development.
