Vera Therapeutics is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our experienced and collaborative team. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a critical role in assisting with daily accounting operations and the month-end close process.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare month-end journal entries and supporting workbooks.
- Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly accruals.
- Prepare assigned prepaid amortization schedules and maintain accuracy of subledgers.
- Verify that transactions are properly supported, in accordance with pertinent policies and are classified, and recorded according to acceptable accounting standards.
- Collaborate with the Accounts Payable team to resolve any vendor or billing issues.
- Support the implementation of internal controls, including identifying process improvements and operational efficiencies.
- Gather and prepare requests for external auditors and other professional service providers.
- Support User Acceptance Testing for system implementations or upgrades.
- Assist with business and tax filings.
- Provide support for special projects, initiatives, and analyses, as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field or equivalent working experience.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in a public company, preferably in the life science industry.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to anticipate events, prioritize assignments, deal with interruptions, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and growth-oriented environment.
- Ability and willingness to adapt to change quickly, high personal motivation, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication, project management, and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as a collaborative team player.
- Self-starter, proactive, and willing to learn.
- Proficiency with Excel.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is preferred.
- Experience with NetSuite is preferred.
Vera Therapeutics is an equal-opportunity employer committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. We strive to provide employees with total compensation packages that are market competitive. The starting anticipated base pay range for this role begins at $72,000. The exact base pay offered will depend on various factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience.
The successful candidate will be eligible for an annual performance incentive bonus, new hire equity, and ongoing performance-based equity. Vera Therapeutics also offers various benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401k match, flexible time off, and a number of paid holidays.
