About the Role

The San Diego State University Research Foundation is seeking a highly skilled KPBS Account Executive to join our Corporate Development team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for securing financial commitments from businesses, individuals, foundations, and government agencies to support KPBS's mission to inform, enlighten, and empower the San Diego community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sales and Business Development (75%):
    • Develop and maintain relationships with current and prospective clients to secure underwriting and sponsorship agreements.
    • Prospect and initiate sales calls, presentations, and proposals to secure new business opportunities.
    • Work with clients to produce underwriting credits and web ads.
    • Attend KPBS events and activities related to Corporate Development.
  • Administration (15%):
    • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals by platform.
    • Collect payments due to KPBS from accounts in a timely manner.
  • Other Duties and Responsibilities (10%):
Qualifications
  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • Four years of relevant, full-time professional experience in sales, advertising sales, fundraising, or marketing.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Graduation from a four-year college or university or equivalent.
    • Five years of media sales experience.
    • TV-Radio-Web sales experience.
    • Experience with Nielsen, Arbitron, and Scarborough.
    • Knowledge of public broadcasting.
Additional Requirements
  • Candidates must reside in California or be willing to relocate and live within a commutable distance to the SDSU campus at the time of hire.
  • Job offer is contingent upon satisfactory clearance based on Background Check results, including a criminal record check.
