Position Overview

Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT) is on the lookout for a Lead Engineer for Systems and Software Analysis to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial for enhancing our automated testing and analytical capabilities for complex defense systems. The successful candidate will collaborate with a dedicated group of professionals to tackle some of the most challenging issues faced by the Department of Defense.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct the creation of automated software analysis solutions for testing events.
  • Engage with clients to gather technical and programmatic requirements.
  • Manage all phases of the project lifecycle, from initiation through to design, testing, and implementation.
  • Contribute to the Systems Integration practice.
  • Support the integration of new applications into the tactical environment.
  • Develop and implement interfaces using a Model-Based Systems Engineering approach.
  • Design, develop, and analyze software related to DoD Command and Control and Surface Warfare.
  • Oversee the complete software development lifecycle.
  • Model and code testing algorithms using languages such as C++, Python, JavaScript, and Java.
  • Integrate software components within a complex development environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of engineering experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, MATLAB, or Python.
  • Ability to document requirements and specifications effectively.
  • Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Capability to manage multiple assignments and prioritize tasks accordingly.
  • Experience in leading the systematic conversion of program requirements into viable solutions.
  • Familiarity with distributed systems and software design patterns.
  • Competence in interpreting technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with ATRT Analysis Manager development processes.
  • Understanding of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Experience with Aegis Weapon System or CEC data analysis.
  • Hands-on experience in deploying applications in mission-critical environments.
  • Knowledge of software testing, configuration management, and test automation.
  • Experience with Aegis Weapon Systems, CEC, or NAVSEA tactical applications.
  • Proficiency in using architecture frameworks.
  • Experience in the DoD Air and Surface Warfare software development domain.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
