Position Overview
SAIC stands at the forefront of Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) integration, specializing in the modernization of traditional command and control frameworks into advanced hybrid cloud solutions. This initiative aims to enhance decision-making capabilities and improve mission outcomes in response to evolving threats.
We are in search of a seasoned Systems Architect to support our esteemed United States Air Force client. The selected candidate will be instrumental in the design and execution of intricate systems, ensuring comprehensive understanding, documentation, and communication of project requirements throughout the entire project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with stakeholders to collect and assess system requirements.
- Convert system requirements into detailed technical specifications and architectural designs, recommending technology upgrades or adoptions as necessary.
- Utilize model-based systems engineering (MBSE) to delineate system functionalities and develop performance and functional requirements.
- Translate client business needs into specific systems, applications, or process designs for extensive, complex solutions and integrated architectures.
- Participate in transition planning analysis, intelligence information requirements, and develop architecture baselines.
- Lead the creation of integration and migration plans and schedules.
- Act as the primary advocate for the client, serving as the ultimate authority on the architecture designed to solve client business challenges.
- Support ISR and C4ISR programs, systems, and clients as needed.
- Contribute to business process enhancements or systems analysis for various missions, systems, and fiscal requirements.
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess US citizenship, an active Secret clearance, and the capability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
Educational requirements include a Bachelor’s degree with fourteen (14) years of experience; a Master’s degree with twelve (12) years of experience; or a PhD or JD with nine (9) years of experience.
Essential Skills:
- Proven experience in architecting complex command and control systems.
- Familiarity with Software Communications Architectures (SCA).
- Knowledge of Open Mission Systems/Universal Command and Control Interface (OMS UCI) 2.0+ compliance.
- Experience with Micro-Service Plugin based architectures (Service Mesh, API Gateway, ISTIO, Consul).
- Ability to develop Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
- Proficiency with both Relational and Non-Relational Databases (MySQL, NoSQL DB, EDB, Accumulo).
- Experience with Data Ingest tools such as Kafka (Queues, Topics, Streams), RabbitMQ, and ActiveMQ.
- Experience working within Agile frameworks and/or DevOps methodologies.
- Ability to align mission requirements with system design.
- Demonstrated expertise in system architecture design and implementation.
- Familiarity with DoDAF, SysML, and UML modeling, simulation, and analysis.
- Proficient in using DOORS or similar requirements management tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including briefing capabilities.
- Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as Cameo Enterprise Architect, Rational Rhapsody, or Sparx Enterprise Architect.
- Understanding of relevant industry standards and frameworks (e.g., ISO/IEC 15288, INCOSE).
