ARC is seeking a Senior Mainframe Software Developer to enhance our product offerings. In this role, you will collaborate with product teams to deliver software development, innovative solutions, and design support across the entire product stack. Your focus will be on continuously improving engineering practices while leveraging cloud-native architectures and frameworks. You will work closely with Product Owners and Solution Architects to drive product success.



Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead software development efforts by providing engineering solutions that optimize product delivery. Mentor junior engineers and offer technical leadership to smaller teams as required. Clearly articulate the comprehensive architecture of the product.
  2. Engage with product owners and business subject matter experts to assess business requirements and deliver sustainable engineering solutions. Ensure alignment of technical solutions with business objectives.
  3. Oversee the creation and modification of product portfolio components, identifying and mobilizing necessary technical resources to contribute to the solution. Ensure consistency with ARC's architectural, design, and development standards.
  4. Develop applications adhering to industry best practices, while adapting new methodologies that enhance business flexibility and agility.
  5. Stay abreast of the latest development tools, technologies, patterns, and methodologies; share insights by effectively communicating results and ideas to key stakeholders.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in application programming, including front-end user interfaces, server-side applications, and database queries.
  • 5+ years of full-cycle application development experience (comprehensive SDLC experience: design, development, delivery, etc.).
  • 3+ years of experience with Agile methodologies, Scrum, DevOps, and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery.
  • 5+ years of experience in implementing modern applications using:
  • Cloud-Based Solutions/Technologies (AWS or equivalent).
  • AWS developer tools including, but not limited to, Lambda, API Gateway, and DynamoDB.
  • Modern application and infrastructure design patterns, such as microservices and containers, disposable, reactive, stateless, and distributed architectures.
  • Proficiency in open-source technologies including, but not limited to, NodeJS, Python, Java, and React.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams through the development process and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience mentoring small technical teams and guiding multidisciplinary (full stack) technical teams.
  • Capability to identify and define functional requirements and translate them into technical specifications and solution definitions.
  • Ability to influence technology strategy and best practices across peer and leadership groups to foster an agile development culture.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • A strong intellectual curiosity to continually challenge existing processes and explore necessary changes to meet evolving business and market demands.
  • A genuine passion for supporting colleagues to achieve project timelines on larger initiatives.
