Position Summary

The Employee Accommodation Specialist is dedicated to ensuring a seamless transition for Associates from their initial move into housing through to their departure from the organization. This role is crucial in fostering Moonlight Basin's culture throughout every aspect of an Associate's employment journey. The experience of each Associate is instrumental in shaping their view of the organization and their commitment to contributing to the success of Moonlight Basin. The Accommodation Specialist is integral in achieving these objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Cultural Integration

  • Prioritizes delivering an exceptional experience for all Associates, from housing orientation to their final day of employment.
  • Works collaboratively to align the onboarding process with the core values and vision of Moonlight Basin.
  • Participates in the organization and implementation of cultural events for all Associates.
  • Coordinates with department leaders to ensure effective communication between Associates and housing services.

Housing Management

  • Aims to enhance the living experience, particularly focusing on first and last impressions.
  • Manages the housing inventory and overall program for both seasonal and year-round Associates.
  • Oversees the check-in and check-out processes for housing.
  • Allocates housing units to new residents, organizes payroll deductions for fees, rent, and fines.
  • Assists the HR department in reconciling payroll deductions with the monthly housing budget.
  • Administers all lease agreements, including drafting and renewing subleases, ensuring all necessary housing documents are signed prior to occupancy, and maintaining electronic records for the required duration.
  • Supervises housing repairs and maintenance, ensuring timely and high-quality completion of all tasks.
  • Conducts inspections of housing units before, during, and after the season to assess cleanliness, compliance with rules, and necessary repairs.
  • Ensures that common areas in dormitory-style housing, such as gyms and outdoor spaces, are clean, safe, and well-maintained for Associates.
  • Collaborates with HR and property management to secure housing for current and future seasons, including placements for international Associates.
  • Regularly communicates housing availability with HR and hiring managers.
  • Assists HR in coordinating transportation for incoming seasonal staff, including airport transfers when necessary.
  • Maintains availability to work within housing units during weekends, evenings, and holidays as required by business needs.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; a bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • At least one year of experience in housing programs, such as those at educational institutions, rental complexes, or employer housing initiatives.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Reliable transportation capable of safe operation in winter conditions.
  • Ability to perform basic repairs.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, including data collection and analysis.
  • Effective interaction skills with residents, colleagues, management, and vendors.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and housing management software.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor during work hours and while in the community.

Work Environment

This role involves approximately equal time spent in an office setting and onsite at various housing units. Work hours may vary based on the needs of the housing units, typically ranging from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, with on-call responsibilities during nights, weekends, and holidays for emergencies. The physical conditions of the housing units resemble those of a multi-level dormitory and apartment-style housing, requiring outdoor work in various weather conditions.

Physical Demands

This position is physically demanding, requiring the ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently, stand, walk, reach, and perform repetitive tasks with minimal breaks. Responsibilities include moving heavy objects, climbing stairs, and rearranging furniture. In the office, the individual will be required to sit, talk, and interact with others, necessitating effective verbal communication and listening skills.
