As a vital member of a dedicated and skilled team, you will engage in daily procurement operations supporting various purchasing initiatives. Your role will encompass supplier communications, product pricing, quality assurance, and schedule management. Additionally, you will assist with broader supply chain management responsibilities, including business analysis and interdepartmental coordination. Your contributions will play a significant role in advancing the legacy of space exploration, demanding your unwavering commitment and meticulous attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute daily procurement tasks in support of development programs and testing operations.
  • Coordinate the acquisition of services, materials, and products required for operations.
  • Collaborate with sourcing and program teams to identify and select suppliers for bidding and contract awards.
  • Ensure that all supplier documentation, including terms and conditions, is prepared prior to engagement.
  • Manage supplier orders, track backlog and order status, and adjust schedules as necessary, including modifications to purchase orders for overdue shipments.
  • Work closely with logistics to guarantee timely and cost-effective delivery of materials to production sites.
  • Adhere to all requirements related to the purchasing, storage, and transportation of materials.
  • Monitor supplier performance and compile reports, analyses, and other relevant documentation.
  • Address discrepancies related to purchasing, delivery, receiving, and accounts payable.
  • Facilitate the expedited management of materials to address shortages.
  • Coordinate the return of materials to vendors for discrepancies identified during inspections.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in procurement.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence tools, including Tableau and SQL.
  • Capability to work effectively both independently and within cross-functional teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or legally admitted refugee/asylee.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of tactical purchasing experience.
  • Experience in research and development procurement within a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • Background in the aerospace defense industry is advantageous.
  • Relevant certifications such as APICS, CPM, or CSCP are a plus.
