This role will focus on developing and supporting comprehensive Behavioral Health Wellness initiatives to prevent substance misuse/abuse and promote mental health and wellness across the lifespan.
Key Responsibilities- Provide subject matter expertise on tobacco/nicotine underage use prevention strategies to prevent tobacco/nicotine use and access to tobacco/nicotine by underage populations.
- Monitor SAMHSA Substance Abuse Prevention Block grant grantees and provide technical assistance on services and programs.
- Develop and implement prevention services that address tobacco/nicotine use prevention, including approaches to systems development and service delivery.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including state and local agencies, consumer groups, universities, and other organizations, to advance prevention initiatives.
- Contribute to policy development and other agency mandates and programs at the state and/or local levels.
- Thorough knowledge of prevention and practice models, including the Strategic Prevention Framework and Institute of Medicine and Public Health model.
- Professional experience in prevention services development, delivery, and implementation, as well as management and monitoring of prevention services.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to deliver consultation and technical assistance related to prevention services development, delivery, and management.
- Familiarity with budget and/or contract development and management, as well as facilitation and presentation skills for working with diverse agency and constituent groups.
