About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Technician to join our team at the Richmond Behavioral Health Authority. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing support to individuals with mental health needs in our residential treatment programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and assist clients with activities of daily living, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Conduct facility and grounds inspections to maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Provide customer service by greeting clients, admitting them to the unit, and conducting tours and orientation.
  • Maintain the safety and cleanliness of the unit, including laundry duties and assisting clients with special needs.
  • Monitor client job function assignments and perform filing duties as needed.
  • Prepare and maintain clinical documentation, including progress notes and shift reports.
  • Coordinate discharges in consultation with the treatment and case management team.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with coursework in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience working with individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders, and co-occurring disorders.
  • Valid driver's license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Ability to work weekends, variable shifts, and holidays.
  • Basic typing and computer skills.
