Position Overview

Join GE Renewable Energy Power and Aviation as a Technical Associate Intern, where you will gain invaluable experience across various sectors of the Aerospace industry. This internship offers exposure to critical areas such as Development Testing of aviation engines and components, On-Wing Support, and advanced instrumentation design. Under the guidance of seasoned professionals, you will contribute meaningfully while developing your skills through hands-on experience and structured training.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Technical Associate Intern, your role will encompass:
  • Engaging in development testing and engineering tasks, including component design, life management, aerodynamic and thermodynamic analysis, performance evaluation, stress and vibration analysis, and conducting engine tests.
  • Participating in Engine Services, providing hands-on experience with engine components and repair processes, while collaborating closely with engineering and customer support teams.
  • Contributing to Manufacturing initiatives focused on cycle time optimization, product flow enhancement, workstation design, tooling, and adherence to environmental health and safety standards.
  • Exploring Materials roles that involve evaluating and characterizing materials and processes relevant to aircraft engines.
  • Assisting in Sourcing activities, which include preparing requests for quotes, managing purchase orders, negotiating contracts, and fostering relationships with international suppliers.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required.
  • Currently pursuing a degree in a technical discipline.
  • Enrolled in a full-time, two-year technical program.
  • Completion of at least one year of college coursework.
  • Availability to work at any GE Renewable Energy location for a duration of 10 to 28 weeks.

Eligibility Criteria:

All employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening. Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is mandatory. This position is limited to U.S. persons due to access to export-controlled technology. Proof of status will be required prior to employment.

Compensation:

Pay rates for this internship start at $17.00/hour, with increases based on academic progression. Relocation support and housing assistance are available for candidates relocating to a new city.
