Position Overview

At GE Renewable Energy Power and Aviation, our technical co-op program provides participants with extensive exposure to diverse sectors within the energy and aviation industries. Opportunities include: Development Testing of energy systems and components, On-Site Support, and specialized instrumentation design and application. Participants are guided by experienced managers who mentor their contributions and foster professional growth throughout their assignments. Co-ops enhance their leadership and technical skills through structured, hands-on experiences complemented by academic training.

Key Responsibilities

Essential duties for development testing and engineering roles encompass component design and evaluation, lifecycle management, aerodynamic and thermodynamic modeling, performance analysis, stress testing, vibration assessments, and system evaluations. Most projects leverage advanced computing systems to apply modeling techniques. Roles in Engine Services offer unique hands-on experience with energy components and repair methodologies, necessitating frequent collaboration with engineering and customer support teams. Manufacturing positions focus on optimizing cycle times, enhancing product flow, workstation design, tooling, material handling, and ensuring environmental health and safety standards. Materials roles present opportunities to assess and characterize materials and processes utilized in energy systems. Sourcing roles involve preparing requests for quotes, managing purchase orders, negotiating contracts, and developing international supplier relationships.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 (unrounded)
  • Pursuing a degree in a relevant technical discipline
  • Enrolled in a full-time, two-year technical program
  • Completed at least one year of college education
  • Availability to work in any GE Renewable Energy location for a minimum of 10 weeks and a maximum of 28 weeks
Eligibility Criteria

All employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening. Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is mandatory. We do not sponsor employment visas for this position. This role is limited to U.S. persons due to access to export-controlled technology. Proof of status will be required prior to employment.

Compensation

Pay rates for this position start at $17.00/hour, with increases based on academic progression. Relocation support and housing assistance are available for candidates relocating to a new city.
