Job Title: IT Support Specialist (On-Site)

Location: Ashburn, VA

Reports to: IT Manager

FLSA Status: Full-Time / Exempt

Work Shift: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. / Mon. – Fri.

SUMMARY: The IT Support Specialist plays a crucial role in aiding the organization to achieve its objectives by providing support to the IT Manager in the daily IT operations and functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Providing daily IT support as required.
  • Managing inventory, setup, and maintenance of computers, software, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Overseeing antivirus and patch management for computer and server operating systems.
  • Offering basic support for Active Directory Users & Computers.
  • Delivering end-user help desk assistance.
  • Ensuring compliance with Corporate Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Managing mobile devices including phones and tablets.
  • Possessing a valid driver's license and reliable transportation for occasional local travel.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by the IT Manager.
CHARACTERISTICS AND SKILLS:

  • Exceptional customer service skills, patience, organization, and effective communication.
  • Proficiency in computer software, hardware maintenance, and technical support.
  • Experience in diagnosing, repairing, and upgrading PC hardware, along with basic network troubleshooting.
  • Self-motivated with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interpret diverse communication styles.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Associate's degree in a relevant field.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Support experience with Microsoft Windows 10 & 11 Operating Systems.
  • Experience with Windows Server 2016 & 2019 Operating Systems.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Suite.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • CompTIA or Microsoft Certifications or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with endpoint security technologies such as Carbon Black.
  • Experience with endpoint management technologies like Microsoft Intune, SCCM, and Autopilot.
ADDITIONAL NOTED REQUIREMENTS:
  • This position is on-site.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Standard work hours are generally 40 hours per week but may vary based on business needs.
