EHS Compliance Coordinator

Position Overview: The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist plays a crucial role in fostering a robust EHS culture within the organization while ensuring adherence to relevant regulations and corporate standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively contribute to the Facility EHS Team to cultivate a strong safety culture.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to employees at all levels to enhance EHS performance.
  • Regularly review and revise safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Conduct EHS audits and inspections to verify compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Monitor and ensure the completion of corrective actions identified during audits and inspections.
  • Promote safety awareness throughout the facility using established and innovative risk reduction strategies.
  • Assist in managing investigations related to workers' compensation and liability claims, focusing on root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Participate in facility safety committees to enhance safety initiatives.
  • Deliver EHS training sessions to employees.
  • Represent the company during safety inspections conducted by federal, state, and local authorities.
  • Track and manage EHS metrics and related data effectively.
  • Communicate EHS metrics and objectives to facility leadership and staff.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, environmental science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of EHS regulations and industry best practices.
  • Certifications such as GSP or ASP are advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Management Systems like ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively influence others.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to sit, stand, bend, walk, and lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally and work flexible hours as needed.
