Position Overview

As the Senior Vice President of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and Sustainability, you will report directly to the CEO and be an integral part of the Executive Team. Your primary responsibility will be to spearhead compliance, safety, and sustainability initiatives across Tradebe's operations in the United States, which encompass multiple processing facilities and service centers. This role demands a blend of strategic oversight and practical implementation, requiring close collaboration with regulatory bodies, the development of EHS tools, and the advancement of the company's sustainability objectives. You will oversee key EHS leadership, enhancing Tradebe's performance in the industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and cultivate a team of EHS professionals dedicated to achieving compliance and sustainability goals through effective influence and relationship management.
  • Design and implement national EHS programs and training that equip employees with the essential tools for maintaining safe and environmentally responsible practices across Tradebe.
  • Engage with site leadership across various facilities and departments, including Operations, Sales, Customer Service, and Transportation, to ensure robust EHS compliance and sustainability efforts.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to identify and establish best practices for EHS performance and compliance, focusing on areas such as permit management, compliance audits, corrective actions, and performance metrics.
  • Act as a key contributor in long-term planning and evaluation of acquisitions, expansions, and redevelopment projects, fostering critical relationships with public officials.
  • Build and sustain relationships with essential EHS stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, industry groups, environmental organizations, and sustainability experts.
  • Manage risk processes, including insurance applications and claims negotiations, in partnership with the General Counsel.
  • Possess expertise in relevant environmental regulations and compliance standards.
  • Oversee remediation projects, ensuring they are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Engage with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, EHS, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in EHS program development and leadership, with a strong emphasis on environmental compliance.
  • At least 3 years of experience in an executive leadership role, collaborating with C-Suite executives.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including mentoring and developing team members.
  • Ability to align strategic business goals with project initiatives.
  • Proven success in influencing organizational change and implementing new programs.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Capacity to prioritize and manage multiple competing objectives effectively.
  • A results-driven approach with a commitment to follow-through.
