Position Overview
As the Senior Vice President of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and Sustainability, you will play a pivotal role in steering compliance, safety, and sustainability efforts across Tradebe's operations in the United States. Reporting directly to the CEO and being part of the Executive Team, your leadership will blend strategic vision with practical execution. You will collaborate with regulatory bodies, create EHS tools, and champion the company's sustainability objectives. Key EHS leaders will report to you as you enhance Tradebe's EHS standards within the industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a proficient team of EHS professionals dedicated to achieving compliance and sustainability goals through influence and relationship management.
- Design and implement national EHS programs and training initiatives that equip employees with the necessary resources to maintain safe and environmentally responsible practices across Tradebe.
- Engage with site leadership across various facilities and departments, including Operations, Sales, Customer Service, and Transportation, to promote effective EHS compliance and sustainability.
- Work alongside leadership to identify and establish best practices for all facets of EHS performance and compliance, including permit management, compliance audits, corrective actions, and performance metrics.
- Act as a vital partner in the strategic planning, assessment, development, and integration of acquisitions, expansions, and redevelopment initiatives, fostering relationships with public decision-makers.
- Establish and nurture connections with key EHS stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, industry groups, environmental organizations, and sustainability experts.
- Oversee risk management processes, including insurance applications and claims negotiations, in collaboration with the General Counsel.
- Possess expertise in all relevant environmental regulations and standards.
- Manage remediation projects effectively, ensuring timely and budget-compliant closure.
- Interact with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies as necessary.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, EHS, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in EHS program development and leadership, with a strong emphasis on environmental compliance.
- At least 3 years of experience as part of an executive leadership team, collaborating with C-Suite executives.
- Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including successful mentoring and development of team members.
- Ability to align strategic business goals with specific projects.
- Proven ability to influence organizational change and establish new programs and initiatives.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Capacity to prioritize and manage multiple competing objectives.
- Results-driven work ethic with a focus on task completion.
