Position Overview:

The Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of the store, ensuring that all aspects of customer service, facility maintenance, merchandising, and financial controls are executed efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Engagement: Lead and mentor store personnel to deliver exceptional customer service. Greet customers warmly and assist them with inquiries, ensuring a pleasant shopping experience.
  • Facility Management: Maintain the store's cleanliness and operational condition. Report any maintenance issues promptly and ensure that housekeeping tasks are performed regularly.
  • Merchandising Standards: Monitor product displays and inventory levels to ensure freshness and accessibility. Assist in inventory management and implement pricing strategies in line with company policies.
  • Sales and Financial Oversight: Ensure all sales transactions are processed accurately and in compliance with company standards. Maintain accurate records of cash, sales, and inventory, and report any discrepancies to management.
  • Staff Supervision: Support the Store Manager in supervising staff activities, scheduling shifts, and conducting training for new employees. Provide constructive feedback to enhance team performance.
  • Security and Compliance: Assist in maintaining a safe environment for both employees and customers. Report any incidents or unsafe conditions to management immediately.
  • Administrative Duties: Prepare sales and operational reports as needed. Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on improving store performance.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; experience in retail management is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of customer service principles and business operations.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to handle customer concerns effectively.
  • Proficient in operating cash registers and other store equipment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks as needed.

Work Environment:

This position primarily involves indoor work, with occasional outdoor tasks related to store maintenance. The role requires a proactive approach to ensuring a clean and safe shopping environment.
