Position Overview:

The Assistant Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the store, focusing on customer satisfaction, facility upkeep, merchandising, and financial management.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Engagement: Lead and mentor store personnel to deliver exceptional customer service. Responsibilities include:

  • Welcoming customers and providing assistance as needed.
  • Addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues professionally.
  • Managing transactions accurately at the cash register.
  • Operating various store equipment including fuel consoles and lottery machines.
  • Assisting in resolving customer concerns within set guidelines.

Store Maintenance: Maintain awareness of the store's condition and oversee housekeeping tasks, including:

  • Cleaning and organizing store areas.
  • Ensuring equipment is in working order.
  • Managing waste disposal and cleanliness.

Product Management: Ensure product availability and presentation, including:

  • Monitoring stock levels and product rotation.
  • Assisting in inventory orders and price adjustments.
  • Implementing promotional signage as per company standards.

Sales and Financial Oversight: Ensure compliance with sales procedures and financial accuracy, including:

  • Coaching staff on transaction processing.
  • Maintaining accurate cash and sales records.
  • Completing daily financial reports and banking tasks.

Team Leadership: Supervise store staff and assist in scheduling, including:

  • Conducting shift supervision and assuming managerial duties as required.
  • Training employees in customer service roles.
  • Providing performance feedback and assisting in employee development.

Safety and Security: Support the Store Manager in maintaining a secure environment, including:

  • Reporting incidents and unsafe conditions.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety protocols.

Administrative Duties: Assist in preparing operational reports and maintaining inventory levels, including:

  • Participating in meetings and controlling merchandise expenses.
  • Completing shift change reports and ensuring accurate cash handling.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with relevant retail experience.
  • Understanding of customer service principles and business operations.
  • Strong communication skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and handle physical demands of the job.
