Work Schedule: Our centers operate seven days a week from 8 AM to 8 PM, with shifts comprising 3-12 hours weekly, including rotating weekends.

Role Overview: The Patient Registration Specialist is responsible for receiving and registering patients, collecting demographic and insurance details, and assisting with financial inquiries, including the acceptance and processing of copays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome patients warmly and assist them as needed.
  • Accurately gather and verify demographic and insurance information.
  • Utilize the computer system to generate fee slips and ensure all information is correct.
  • Provide necessary forms for patient completion and ensure all registration fields are thoroughly filled and scanned into the patient’s chart.
  • Keep patients informed about their account status.
  • Notify clinical staff when patients are ready for consultation.
  • Collect payments, including insurance co-pays and other charges.
  • Coordinate patient care and records with other clinic locations as necessary.
  • Gather reports from referrals and prior authorizations.
  • Answer phone calls, record messages, and deliver them to appropriate staff.
  • Perform various administrative tasks such as photocopying, faxing, and filing.
  • Maintain logs of daily activities, including patient counts and financial transactions.
  • Audit and balance financial transactions to ensure accurate deposits.
  • Manage office supplies and forms to ensure efficient operations.
  • Support team members and contribute positively to the department.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of customer service experience in a medical or retail setting.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word and Excel.
  • Familiarity with medical software is preferred but not mandatory.

Work Environment: This position is based in a medical office setting, with potential exposure to various health-related conditions.

Physical Requirements: The role involves extensive computer use and regular telephone communication, with the possibility of experiencing moderate stress levels due to patient interactions.
