Position Overview

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Assistant Resident Engineer with extensive experience in the Construction Engineering and Management sector. This role presents an exciting opportunity to engage in transformative infrastructure initiatives.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Project Leadership: Oversee the successful, timely, and budget-conscious delivery of projects. Provide leadership throughout all phases from pre-construction to project completion.
  • Contract Management: Ensure compliance with contract terms, interpret project specifications, and offer guidance to clients. Manage project documentation including submittals, RFIs, and schedules.
  • Coordination: Facilitate collaboration among contractors, lead project meetings, and participate in the review of contractor invoices. Maintain clear communication regarding project progress with clients and stakeholders.
  • Project Closeout: Assist in finalizing project activities, including documentation processing, warranty management, and invoicing. Maintain accurate logs and reports for project tracking.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct quality inspections in collaboration with construction teams. Support client interactions and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Issue Resolution: Proactively identify and address potential delays or complications, providing effective solutions to meet client expectations.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 6 years of applicable experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • A valid driver's license is required for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with the Chicago Department of Transportation or expertise in National Bascule Bridge projects.
