Position Overview


As a Financial Systems Analyst, you will play a crucial role within the Finance, Budget, and Human Resources (FBH) agile team.

Your primary goal will be to optimize the financial systems and operational processes of the organization through comprehensive business analysis.

Your key responsibilities will encompass performing in-depth business process evaluations and requirements gathering to enhance the financial systems, diagnosing and resolving system/application challenges through analytical reasoning, documenting business workflows for clarity and efficiency, and facilitating user acceptance testing to confirm system functionality and enhancements.

This position requires a collaborative individual with a robust analytical approach. The capability to convey intricate cross-departmental business processes and their impact on support systems is vital. Through this analytical integration, the role aims to foster ongoing improvement and efficiency in the organization’s financial operations.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, information management, business administration, business/systems analysis, or accounting is required.
• At least 6 years of experience in business and process analysis or a related discipline.

• Proficiency with Financial/ERP systems and system integration, particularly in areas such as general accounting, sales (order to cash), expense management (procure to pay), budgeting/planning, and HR/Payroll is essential.

• Demonstrated experience in business analysis within a financial context, including the ability to articulate the strategic significance of IT to the organization.

• Familiarity with business process modeling and development of business use cases.

• Ability to analyze complex business workflows, troubleshoot common system issues, identify automation opportunities, define RPA value propositions, reengineer processes for enhanced automation, and recommend RPA strategies.

• Significant knowledge of GAAP and fundamental accounting principles is required.
• Experience working in high-performing agile teams.

Technical Skills


• Proficiency in business intelligence tools and data analysis software, along with experience in documenting business processes, data flows, requirements, test scenarios, and integrations is essential.

• Understanding of end-to-end business functions supported by ERP systems, including integrated solutions such as quote to cash, procure to pay, sales order processing, EDI Processing, eCommerce, inventory management, and invoicing.• Experience with business analysis tools (e.g., Balsamiq, Lucidchart) for creating wireframes, flowcharts, etc.
• Familiarity with routine accounting processes and procedures.
• Knowledge of agile methodologies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Familiarity with RPA strategies and technologies is preferred.
• Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, One Note, Visio, and Teams is required.
• Experience with ERP systems and the business processes they support is mandatory. Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central software is advantageous.
• Experience with Jira/Confluence or similar systems is preferred.

Key Responsibilities


• Collaborate as a member of the FBH team utilizing the agile framework to provide analytical support for financial applications and integrations.

• Document requirements for new features and functionalities in a continuous release schedule based on business priorities.

• Engage in a dynamic partnership with subject matter experts (SMEs) and developers to affirm business objectives, articulate requirements, analyze and refine business processes, identify enhancement opportunities, and guide solution development.

• Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather business requirements and translate them into process improvements and/or system enhancements.
• Assist in developing business cases for enhancements and projects.

• Design and conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and regression test cases, coordinating with development teams to ensure new functionalities align with business needs and assist business units in defining business and scope statements that reflect process improvements for increased operational efficiency.

• Collaborate with SMEs and stakeholders to effectively translate identified process enhancements into actionable user stories for development, while also aiding in the creation of acceptance criteria and executing UAT to ensure successful implementation.

• Analyze and document processes and workflows to understand the value chain and input/output to improve and/or automate business performance.
• Research and evaluate opportunities related to process flow variance.
• Monitor the progress of process improvements to ensure expected benefits are realized.

• Continuously seek opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction and strengthen client relationships by interacting effectively at all levels of the organization.

Additional Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and support to the user community regarding operational efficiencies through improved utilization of the systems.
