Position Overview

As a Process Engineer, you will provide essential technical support to enhance safety and optimize manufacturing operations within our facilities. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining safe practices while driving down conversion costs, which directly influences our competitiveness and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prioritize safety in all daily tasks, addressing production crew needs, and implementing process enhancements for quality, waste reduction, and productivity improvement.
  • Actively participate in the World Class Operations Management initiative, contributing to teams and pillars.
  • Analyze and resolve ongoing issues related to process efficiency, quality, and waste, employing problem-solving methodologies.
  • Educate machine operators on new equipment, modifications, and updated procedures.
  • Maintain a system for standard operating conditions to ensure consistent processing of manufacturing equipment.
  • Collaborate with plant BPI resources to guarantee technical support is readily available to production teams.
  • Work alongside manufacturing supervisors and maintenance teams to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing challenges.
  • Engage in project evaluations to facilitate effective scheduling and minimize risks associated with machine downtime.
  • Partner with project engineering to implement equipment modifications aimed at enhancing productivity and reducing waste.
  • Document and initiate procedures that safely boost machine productivity while ensuring product quality meets customer expectations.
  • Participate in training sessions for machine operators regarding new installations and operational changes.
  • May supervise engineering co-op students, providing guidance and performance evaluations as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial) with 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Engagement in professional development through trade journals, seminars, and industry contacts.
  • Participation in training focused on communication, conflict resolution, problem-solving, and quality systems.
