Position Overview
As a Process Engineer, you will provide essential technical support to enhance safety and optimize manufacturing operations within our facilities. This role is pivotal in maintaining safe work practices while driving down conversion costs, directly influencing our competitiveness and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Prioritize safety in all daily activities, addressing production crew needs, and implementing process enhancements for quality, waste reduction, and productivity.
- Actively participate in the implementation of World Class Operations Management through teamwork and collaboration.
- Analyze ongoing issues related to process, quality, production efficiency, and waste, developing effective solutions through systematic problem-solving techniques.
- Train machine operators on new equipment and updated operating procedures.
- Maintain a standard operating conditions system to ensure consistent processing across manufacturing equipment.
- Collaborate with plant BPI resources to guarantee technical support is readily available to production teams.
- Work alongside manufacturing supervisors and maintenance teams to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing challenges.
- Evaluate projects and waivers to optimize scheduling and product development, minimizing risks of downtime and waste.
- Coordinate with project engineering to facilitate equipment modifications aimed at enhancing productivity and reducing waste.
- Document and initiate procedures to safely boost machine productivity while ensuring product quality meets customer expectations.
- May oversee engineering co-op students, providing guidance and performance evaluations as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial) with 1-3 years of relevant experience.
- Engagement in professional development through trade journals, seminars, and equipment supplier interactions.
- Participation in courses focused on communication, conflict resolution, statistical process control, and quality systems.
