Sumitomo Electric Carbide Manufacturing, Inc. is in search of a Manufacturing Process Engineer. The primary responsibility of this role is to diagnose and rectify production challenges while meticulously documenting all findings for future reference. This position entails addressing technical inquiries related to product output, aiding in product innovation, and optimizing operational procedures.

Salary: Up to $80,000 based on experience

Key Responsibilities:
  • Issue Diagnosis: Examine data, identify underlying problems, devise solutions, create programs for machining apparatus, rectify mistakes, and ensure adherence to production protocols and quality benchmarks.
  • Product Innovation: Engage in all phases of product innovation, suggest tooling solutions, assist in cost-reduction initiatives, support the integration of new machinery, and provide simulations for tool design concepts.
  • Staff Training: Collaborate with team members and product users, set up machinery, guide operators, enhance operator competencies, and pinpoint and resolve process inefficiencies.
  • Technical Documentation: Record product-related issues, maintain comprehensive documentation, and generate weekly reports summarizing production metrics and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Communication with Management: Regularly update the General Manager of Engineering and other production team members on progress, challenges, outcomes, and suggestions for improvement.
Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred or 3-5 years of pertinent experience.
  • Familiarity with CNC grinding machinery is advantageous.
  • Language Proficiency: Ability to comprehend company policies, safety protocols, and communicate effectively.
  • Mathematical Proficiency: Utilize basic algebra and geometry concepts.
  • Analytical Skills: Apply knowledge to execute instructions, solve problems, and communicate efficiently.
  • Additional Skills: Experience in the cutting tools sector is preferred, with the ability to read and interpret technical documentation.
