Position Summary:

The Inside Sales Consultant role at Metal Sales offers a unique opportunity to delve into the metal manufacturing sector while collaborating closely with our Territory Sales Managers and branch team members.

As the leading manufacturer of metal roofing and building systems in the United States, Metal Sales operates from multiple locations nationwide. This position is focused on engaging with our clientele through a sales-driven approach. The role primarily supports customers in the Midwest region.

The ideal candidate will possess an entrepreneurial mindset, excel in multitasking within a dynamic environment, demonstrate strong communication capabilities, and be adept at converting quotes into sales while promoting our online ordering system. There are opportunities for advancement into outside sales roles for qualified candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitating the adoption and continuous promotion of our online ordering platform, which includes identifying customers, providing support and training, and strategizing marketing efforts.
  • Following up on all sales quotes generated by the branch to enhance closing rates.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for a designated customer portfolio and executing various inside sales tasks such as making calls, scheduling appointments, and delivering customer service.
  • Documenting sales activities within our CRM system.
  • Attracting new customers and collaborating with Territory Sales Managers to strengthen relationships with key and target clients.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, along with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in a customer service or sales-oriented environment, whether inside or outside sales, with familiarity in using CRM tools.
  • Knowledge of building products, particularly roofing materials, is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Willingness to travel locally or regionally up to 25% for outside sales activities.
  • Experience with NetSuite ERP and quoting software is a plus; proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required.
  • An associate degree or higher is preferred; a high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
